Kathmandu to Lhasa Tour via Everest Base Camp is a journey to experience the beauty of the Tibetan landscape and to understand the rich culture of its people. This 9-day adventure starts from Kathmandu followed by NyalamDingri, and Shegar then the base camp of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest followed by visits to ShigatseGyantse, and finally to Lhasa. This is the Classic tour itinerary to visit Lhasa and Everest Base Camp. If you are not used to the high altitude, then this is one of the best itineraries that cover all the Lhasa main tourist sites like Potala PalaceJokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung and Sera monastery with Gyantse Kumbum and Shigatse Tashi Lhunpho monastery.

During our Kathmandu to Lhasa Tour via Everest Base Camp, we also explore the mystical Yamdrok Tso Lake, conquer a few high passes, and visit popular Tibetan monasteries like Sakya, Tashilhunpo, Shalu, Sera, and Rongbuk, the world’s highest monastery, all the while being surrounded by the magnetic allure of the Himalayas. Explore the monasteries of Lhasa, including the ancient Sera Monastery. On the way, we see beautiful Yamdrok Lake that is one of the four holy lakes in Tibet, and the Karola Glacier, lying on the roadside, just before your eyes, the Pelkor Chode Monastery with unique style kumkum stupa, the famed Tashilhunpo known as the Panchen Lama’s seat, fortress-like Sakya Monastery, seat of the first Tibetan government with a Lama ruler and the world’s highest monastery Rongbuk Monastery 5,000 meters and amazing view of Mt Everest from Everest Base Camp. The overland route connecting Lhasa, Tibet with Everest’s North Face Base Camp is one of the most beautiful and amazing land routes in Asia. Covering a distance of 800 kilometers / 500 miles, this journey will take us from the modern Tibetan capital of Lhasa to pristine high-altitude lakes, rivers, glaciers, and farming valleys, and through the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp. At Everest Base Camp, we will get up close and personal with the world’s highest peak.

Great photographic opportunities along the way up as you will have a great view of the traditional Tibetan architecture. From May to October is the best time to EBC via Lhasa, when the weather is not very cold, averaging above 10°C.
